Thrift Store Find!!

This is a beautiful vintage ( 80's radio) I found at a local thrift store. Its pink! What comes to mind? Cindi Lauper? Roxanne, Roxanne? Darryl and Oates(?) ? I know one of them did:} it works great and was only $1.15! (1/2 off coupon) Obviously no one but me would appreciate a find like this because I saw it at the store not once but twice (the first times I had on my logical thinking cap- the you don't really need this one) and the third time I grabbed it and never looked back! Now I'm on the hunt for more tapes to help me create in my studio what Louie Armstrong, (check), Ink Spots, (check), Rudy Vallee and his Gentleman Songsters (check)! Hey if you create with vintage emphemera, its only right to submerge yourself totally down to the checkered knickers and specs!;)

Imagine the possibilities with gorgeous vintage papers and emphemera like this. Simply endless.

Its so fun to rummage through some one else's belongings isn't it? A passtime I've enjoyed since at the very earliest the age of 5. I would be thrilled when someone passes on (not literally) a large trunk full of vintage goodies or the thrill of the catch when you move into a new home and find all those left behind treasures. I'd take on 15 different personalities in on one play date. Pearls and clasp purses, ear bobs and stiff dresses, old fans, and the almighty sewing case complete with half darned socks. That my friend is the start of a life long love affair, as I have with Old But Beautiful ~things.

F is for fun!!! A recent little altered piece I've been working on for the shop, I love the lively colors and playfulness of this piece! Reminds me of days I never knew. (Oh I love those days!)

I've been in a serious creative rut lately. I look at all my goodies, I've accumulated and quickly turn my head so as to hide the shame I feel in having not touched any of the things I just "had to have". **sighs** I have a few items I've almost completed just a few finishing touches, one last thing to glue down here, one more tap there, one last button over yonder and they will be all ready to go on to the world wide web! Yeah right, I then have take a picture of it, download it to my computer, measure it, define it , post it and promote it. Is it any wonder the daunting task of creating is slowed down, no, completely halted? But I'll get back on track and oh boy, when I do...I'm working on it I think I'll be for the rest of this system of things a WIP! I must stop procrastinating and start doing today what I shouldn't put off until.......etc, etc,...

Just got my new beautiful labels from MommieMadeIt of Etsy of course! ESE(Etsy supporting Etsyians) Aren't they beautiful!! I feel so complete now, been making purses for how long now? Since Middle School and never labeled them! The horror.. (BTW- I'm a 70's baby)Well note anymore .
